Stephanie Street Soap & Skin Care
Neighbourhood: Alton Village
What She Makes: Stephanie makes handmade and all natural artisanal soaps and skincare that are not only beautiful but good for your skin too! Her dessert inspired soaps and scrubs are so beautiful they could grace the windows of the finest French patisserie.
Why We Love Stephanie Street Soap & Skin Care: Stephanie is a Burlington mom who pours her passion for creativity into natural products that help skin feel it’s best. Initially drawn to soap making through her son’s sensitive skin, Stephanie found a better way to offer a natural and gentler alternative to help manage different skin needs.
How Has Living In Burlington Shaped Her Business? “We moved to Burlington nearly three years ago, and I’ve gotten to meet so many talented makers and entrepreneurs here. The community has been so welcoming… I love solving problems, and helping others has been such a blessing. I’ve also had the honour of making wedding and shower favours, and to be included in someone’s special day is such an honour.”
Dandi Ideas by Melissa Fielding
Neighbourhood: Elizabeth Gardens
What She Makes: Dandi Ideas maker Melissa creates completely customized wood signs, art boards and more designed in collaboration with her clients. Her clients can send her any inspiration, text, image and she will conceptualize and create their vision. Each piece is truly one of a kind!
Why We Love Dandi Ideas: Melissa’s attention to detail and care for her clients make working with her a pleasure. She makes gifts for all occasions, but the one she makes for you will be truly memorable because it will be made with your words, significant image and colour ideas!
How Has Living In Burlington Shaped Her Business? “I have made so many amazing relationships with my Burlington customers and neighbours. Burlington has so many amazing local vendors who I have had the pleasure of meeting. I feel connected here. We live in a place where being a local small business can flourish and become so successful. I owe a lot of my success to the community we live in.”
September Charm Flowers
What She Makes: Gorgeous flower arrangements. Katherine’s shop is not only a full service florist, but she is also inspired by antique and vintage pieces. Arrangements are often placed in “found treasures” (milk glass, brass, ceramic booties, tea cups). She also carries a showcase of giftable items from local artisans.
Why We Love September Charm Flowers: Katherine’s shop just opened in December, but she’s already on her way to becoming a favourite shop in the neighbourhood, winning Gold in the Burlington Post Reader’s Choice Awards. We admire her passion for creativity and her unique spin on incorporating the natural beauty of flowers with vintage pieces from the past.
How Has Living In Burlington Shaped Her Business: “Being a small business owner and raising my children in my husband’s beautiful hometown gives me no greater joy.”
