What She Makes: Stephanie makes handmade and all natural artisanal soaps and skincare that are not only beautiful but good for your skin too! Her dessert inspired soaps and scrubs are so beautiful they could grace the windows of the finest French patisserie.
Why We Love Stephanie Street Soap & Skin Care: Stephanie is a Burlington mom who pours her passion for creativity into natural products that help skin feel it’s best. Initially drawn to soap making through her son’s sensitive skin, Stephanie found a better way to offer a natural and gentler alternative to help manage different skin needs.
How Has Living In Burlington Shaped Her Business? “We moved to Burlington nearly three years ago, and I’ve gotten to meet so many talented makers and entrepreneurs here. The community has been so welcoming… I love solving problems, and helping others has been such a blessing. I’ve also had the honour of making wedding and shower favours, and to be included in someone’s special day is such an honour.”

Emma Gerard, Artist
Neighbourhood: Downtown Burlington
What She Makes: Emma makes beautiful glass beads and pendants that make the perfect gift. Her glass work is made at a small torch, using coloured rods of glass that are about the thickness of a pencil. This technique is called flameworking or lampworking. She uses heat, gravity, and a few small tools to shape the beads.
Why We Love Emma Gerard’s Work: Emma’s colourful designs are at once delicate and playful. We love that each individually hand sculpted piece of jewellery is a unique work of art.
How Has Living In Burlington Shaped Her Business? “Being a maker in Burlington right now is better than ever! There are so many amazing local makers that I have gotten the opportunity to connect with online and at events. I recently participated in Burlington Made, a series of artisan markets that are organized by fellow maker, Stephanie Finn. This was my first major market in my hometown and the response was incredible. I’m particularly excited to participate in the upcoming Burlington Made event associated with Sound of Music Festival. This is another event that really brings the whole community together!”
